Norristhorpe dominated large parts of the first half and they deserved their 1 - 0 advantage at half time after some poor Cobras defending allowed them a simple goal.
The second half was a different story with the Cobras playing some of their best football this season. It was the Cobras who were now dominating and creating plenty of chances that were matched by some fine goalkeeping from the Norristhorpe goalkeeper. The goalkeeper could do nothing however to stop Ben D as he claimed his 8th and 9th goal of the season to give the Cobras the advantage.  Norristhorpe came close to an equaliser when they rattled the Cobras crossbar late on with a fierce shot from distance, having survived that scare the Cobras held out for the three points.

The Black team played first and secured a 3 - 0 win with all the goals from Louis S in a man of the match performance. Matthew G and Jack S kept a clean sheet taking turns in Goal and Defence.
Â
The Red team followed and played a good game that Glen Juniors won 1 - 0. Unfortunately the Red team had to play part of the match with one player less but they put in a good performance and had a great game.
Well done to all the players.

Thomas G made the save of the season early on when he managed to tip a thunderbolt shot from the Lions onto the angle of the crossbar and post and prevented the Lions from taking the lead. The Cobras enjoyed plenty of possession and were rewarded when Ben D scored his 7th goal of the season.Â
With all the Cobras squad available for the match including new signings Adam A and Adam S the team was changed at half time but the Cobras continued to enjoy plenty of possession into the second half. Adam S made it 2 -0 when a fine shot rebounded back to him off the Lions goalkeeper and he kept his nerve to slot the ball home for a goal on his debut. The Lions maintained their threat with some thundering shots and they scored a consolation goal towards the end when a cross/shot looped over the Cobras defence and into the goal.

Gomersal Under 6's finished as runners up in their league behind an impressive Darfield side. Gomersal played Darfield in the league's first match and having conceded an early goal the match ended 2 - 0 with Darfield scoring their second with the last kick of the game. Gomersal's next match was against Woodkirk which ended all square at 0 - 0.  The boys were growing in confidence and they won their remaining two games against Wrenthorpe and Tingley Tigers 1 - 0, and 2 - 0.
The goals were scored by Connor M, Jack S and Joe W whilst some excellent goalkeeping and defending from Harrison K, Robbie W and Louis S kept three clean sheets. Taking turns in midfield, Matthew G, Sam J, Jake McC and Harrison S all worked hard for the team.
Thanks must go to all the coaching staff at Leeds United's Academy for an excellent tournament.

2008 started well for the Cobras with a 3 - 2 victory away at Batley. A change in formation due to the absence through injury of defender Louis H and Batley's small, irregular and sloping pitch resulted in a slow but even start to the match. Steven R and Danny C started together in defence for the first time and held Batley well. After 10 minutes it was the Cobras who made the first breakthrough with a fine goal from Ben D.
Controversially Batley were awarded an equaliser when the referee adjudged a rebounded shot off the post to have crossed the line before Thomas G made a save. With the ball on the line and no players claiming a goal it seemed a very harsh decision. The Cobras response however was immediate with Jacob I scoring direct from a free kick with a pin point strike to reclaim the lead.
Into the second half and Batley equalized again this time with a good move and cross from the right that was well converted. With the Cobras spirits remaining high, Ben D scored his 5th goal of the season to secure a vital three points.
Well done Cobras, a great team display.

Drighlington hosted the Gomersal U6's with the squads playing two matches at Drighlington Primary School.
Gomersal started the first match well taking a 2 - 0 lead with goals from Sam J and Connor M, Drighlington quickly got back in the game with both teams playing football older age groups would be proud of. Harrison K in goal for Gomersal made some impressive saves in what had become a well balanced game. Matthew G and Louis S worked hard in defence and Jack S went close with a couple of runs on goal. Gomersal managed to work an impressive fourth goal with a fine passing move but it was not to be as Drighlington won this close match 5 - 4. MoM - Harrison K
The second game was more straightforward for Gomersal who won the game by an impressive 5 - 1 scoreline. A superb hat-trick from Harrison S typified a great team performance with Robbie W and Jake Mc holding the midfield and Thomas P and Thomas B taking turns to keep the defence intact. Joe R and Dylan W completed a great teram performance. MoM - Harrison S
